Caught copying, student slaps examiner

AHMEDABAD: A student caught copying in the exam hall at LD Engineering College slapped the invigilator on Thursday. However, no police complaint has been lodged in this regard. 

According to sources in the college, the erring student was appearing for computers exam of the sixth semester. "When the student got caught, he entered into an argument with the invigilator, asking him not to book a copy case against him. However, when he refused to listen, the student got livid and slapped him in front of students and staff," said an official. 

When contacted, college principal MN Patel said, "It was true that the dispute had erupted between the student and the observer. However, it is not confirmed whether the student had slapped the observer." 

Examination department of the university also received a complaint in this regard. However, no official case was registered as no police complaint was lodged. Meanwhile, the invigilator has sought police protection at the college.
